The Few
The Few 02/23/17 To 03/19/17
By Samuel D. Hunter. It's 1999; uncertainty and instabililty are in the air. Four years earlier, Bryan had abandoned his labor of love, a newspaper for truckers. Now he's returned to small-town Idaho - with no word of where he's been - and things have changed. His former lover is filled with rage, his new coworker is filled with incessant adoration, and his paper is filled with personal ads. This compassionate, gently-hued drama is about three people searching for a renewed faith in humanity.

Great Expectations
Great Expectations 04/13/17 To 04/30/17
By Charles Dickens, adapted by Gale Childs Daly. In this literary gem, Pip, an orphan boy, has a life-altering encounter one day on the moors when he helps an escaped convict named Magwitch. From this singular act of kindness, Pip starts on a mysterious and disturbing journey to manhood that is full of twists and turns, miraculously allowing him to advance in society while all of his great expectations seem to be coming true. Packed with curious and fascinating characters, shadow and light, this exceptional and bold reinvention of the Dickens classic is uncommonly tight and suspensful - a fast paced theatrical treat!

Young Playwrights Festival 2016-17
Young Playwrights Festival 2016-17 05/04/17 To 05/07/17
Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s signature education program, the Young Playwrights Festival, challenges teens to create new theatrical works, brought to life by up-and-coming local artists. This year’s YPF Showcase features three world premieres: THIS JUST IN…, by Malaina Moore, which tells the story of a young Milwaukeean who grieves the loss of a friend after an incident with police; SAYING GRACE, by Alexandra Gieske, in which a family navigates the complex choices of care for parents as they reach their fiftieth wedding anniversary in an assisted living facility; and PRIDE AND PANCAKES, by Kyle Radomski, where a pancake-eating champion cheers his friend on to another, perhaps worthier goal. Performances will feature all three one-act plays with a talkback to follow.
